On March 26th, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to descend upon London town, a “March of Resistance” against the devastating cuts being imposed on the public. Anti-cuts groups are likely to take this opportunity to mount their own actions against the government, in solidarity with the official demonstration, which may include occupations and other forms of non-violent direct action.

Green and Black Cross, an independent legal group working in conjunction with LDMG and the Network for Police Monitoring, will be co-ordinating teams of legal observers on the ground and offering support to activists who share the same common philosophy as ours (http://bit.ly/hdXqop).

This is going to be a tough day, and we need to mobilise as many people as possible to work with us. To help achieve this aim we will be running a number of legal training workshops between now and March 26th in order to train new observers and help existing observers brush up on their skills.

The sessions will be taking place on March 12th, 13th and 20th in London, and March 12th in Brighton – details can be found on our website www.greenandblackcross.org. We are also offering a “know your rights” workshop at 6 Billion Ways this Saturday in Bethnal Green (www.6billionways.org.uk).

More details on our strategy for March 26th will be sent to you nearer the time, but we need an indication numbers in order to set up shift patterns. Please reply to this email (gbclegal@riseup.net) with your preferred working time – morning/afternoon, afternoon/evening, and overnight.

We will only be sending out fully trained legal observers on the day, so please ask your friends now if they are interested in being trained!

As always, you can get more involved in Green and Black Cross by coming along to one of our meetings, see www.greenandblackcross.org for more information.

In solidarity,
